Dutch on level A1

A1 is a beginner level. You will learn the basics of the language and focus mostly on the present tense. To attain level A1 you need to study approximately 80 - 100 hours. At the end, we expect you to know approximately 1000 common words on specific topics, such as restaurants, markets, (clothing) shops, doctors, and housing. You will also understand the grammar of word order, pronouns, articles, nouns, verbs, adjectives, modal verbs, comparisons, prepositions, negation, and perfectum (past tense).

Dutch on level A2

A2 is our basic user level. You will learn more about the past and future tense and new vocabulary. At the end of the course, we expect you to know 2000 common words on specific topics, such as asking and giving directions, visiting and receiving friends and family, getting a subscription at the gym, traveling with public transport, going to the cinema, and filing a report at the police. You will also understand the grammar of imperfectum, futurum, separable verbs, reflexive verbs and pronouns, and conjunctions.

Dutch on level B1

B1 is an intermediate level, which is taught over two separate courses at our Dutch school. The focus lies on a deeper understanding of the language, speaking/presenting in Dutch, advanced vocabulary and more comprehensive themes. You will learn about work, study, research, traveling, emotions and feelings, and education systems.

Note: some people need more time than others to remember and apply the learning material, and some have more time to spend on the course than others. If you are unable to put in the requested hours, the pace will be high. It happens that students repeat a course because they are unable to put in the study hours due to circumstances. Don't be discouraged, learning something new takes time!
